A new riverside park as part of the regeneration of South Shields

The context of the park is a riverside with embankment. The character of the riverside landscape is designed to be a soft ecological space with timber deck and waters edge planting. The concept of the park is a scattering of pearls – pearls of light will spill onto the riverside green space, around mussel shell like forms and ecological mounds. Interspersed with whitebeam trees will be digital light trees, which will be activated by the passing wind to create patterns of moving light.
