Hoghill Greenway

Strategic greenway to Hoghill Cycle Track

The Greenway represents an opportunity to create a shared cycle and footpath making nature and ecology more accessible to the community. The design is an exemplar Greenway that can be used as a model for other locations. It connects Redbridge urban centre to the new Hoghill cycle circuit and Hainault Forest Country Park and links to East London, the City, Thames Gateway and the Olympic Park.

Wherever possible the design proposes combined use of the route for pedestrians and cyclists and sometimes horses. The route travels through mixed use streetscapes which have shared surface proposed. The potential is for these areas to become residential play streets and home zones. Through parks and green open areas great care is taken not to disturb wildlife habitats, for example installing tunnels for Great Crested Newts under the proposed path.
